Columbia Police are investigating after a woman and four of her children were found dead in Columbia Monday night.

Authorities responded to the call on Carters Creek Pike. According to Maury County District Attorney Brent Cooper, five are confirmed dead, it appears to be a mom and four children.

Maury County Sheriff Bucky Rowland said a family member discovered the bodies. Three girls and one boy were the victims.

The sheriff confirmed that a firearm was used. He also said that there appears to be no suspect in the shooting but stopped short of confirming a murder-suicide.

Police said that they have not had any previous calls from the home, and, Identities are being withheld at this time.

The investigation into the incident continues.
