Saturday around 5:45 p.m. the Maury County Fire Department was called to help a child who was burned in an outdoor fire pit located near a home on Iron Bridge Road

The child was reportedly pulled out of the fire quickly by a sibling.

The extent of the child's burns has not been released. The child was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment.

"As the weather turns colder accidents like this one happen more frequently," said a Maury County firefighter. They want to remind everyone to use caution around outdoor fires.
