The October 9th meeting of the Pulaski Board of Mayor and Aldermen was a relatively short one.  Besides the approval of a parade permit for a 5K benefit, there were only a few other agenda items that were discussed.

The board was made aware of an error in the description of bids issued for the purchase of two trucks.  The previous bids were opened for a “Super Cab” truck, which by description limits the type of truck to just one make.  It was agreed to reject the current bid and reword the qualifications to include other makes and models.

The sale of an old street sweeper on govdeals.com was also approved.

With input from a member of the Tourism department, the Board accepted the statement of qualification from Chandler Thinking of Franklin. After a $20,000 grant, they were selected to be the consulting firm that will aide Pulaski in promoting its tourism opportunities.

At the conclusion of the meeting a request to include discussion of other options for parade permits at the next work session was accepted. The board is looking to find an alternate route that will not close down First or Second Street or the sidewalks and parking area.

A called meeting will be held at noon on Thursday, October 11th to open bids on street paving.
