Carnell McCandless is newly-appointed by the Lynnville Board of Mayor and Alderman to fill the vacated seated of Alderman Sandra White, who tendered her resignation in July.

The Lynnville Board made the appointment official at the Aug. 1 regularly scheduled meeting.

McCandless was not sworn in, but will be at a later date. He did not participate in the meeting.

The board then discussed the thread of stories about the city being written on social media.

On the calendar for city activities, a tractor pull is planned for Sept. 9 and the Fair on the Square is set for Sept. 23.

After adjourning, the board went into executive session with its attorneys concerning an open records case.
