Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are investigating an officer-involved shooting here in Pulaski.

Friday, the Pulaski Police Department responded to a report of a reckless driver near Robin Hood Road. The officers initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle near the intersection of Robin Hood Toad and Lynne Road, but the driver did not stop and drove into the yard of a residence in an attempt to flee, according to a statement from the TBI.

Police say the suspect stuck a parked vehicle in the attempt. The subject then returned to the roadway and proceeded to drive toward an officer on foot.

At that point another officer opened fire on the driver. The vehicle crashed and the driver was taken for medical treatment at local hospital.

The TBI reports that no officers were injured in the incident, and the organization won’t disclose the identities of the officers involved in accordance to the organization’s policy.

The TBI will investigate the incident, gathering interviews and evidence and share its findings with District Attorney General Brent Cooper for review and consideration.
