This Saturday is the Stella Fish Fry, held on the grounds of the old school, the event dates back around 25 years, with all the proceeds going to maintain the school and cemetery at Stella.

It originally started with the group cooking with iron pots, but has since turned in to a fast and efficient event that serves on average a thousand people.

Serving starts at 4:00 with catfish or chicken tenders with slaw, fries, hushpuppies and a drink for $12.00 for adults, $6.00 for children under twelve. Carry outs will be available, with limited seating on the grounds.
