A child has died and three people were injured in a massive fire at a Antioch apartment complex Monday morning. The fire happened at Stone Ridge apartments on Picadilly Row around 4 a.m.

Fire officials the deceased child was under the age of 5 and the three injured were two adults and one child.

The child’s father, mother and sibling were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the fire.

The father is said to have been burned over 80 percent of his body, while the mother was mainly injured on her hands. The other child was hospitalized as a precaution.

The fire began inside an apartment on the bottom floor before moving on to the upper level.

Nashville Fire Captain William Swann said eight units were destroyed and 22 residents were displaced.

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents with finding clothing and housing.
