Barbara Jean Davis Howell, age 80, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at her home surrounded by family following an extended battle with Alzheimer’s.  She was a native of Lawrence County; raised feeder pigs in her younger days, was a beautician for 18 years, a wood worker, and a published author throughout her lifetime.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles Herman Howell; her mother, Mildred Davis Smith; and brother, Robert Carl Davis.
 
Barbara is survived by one daughter, Jeannea Jones of Lawrenceburg, one son, Jeff Howell (Shelia) of Florence; two granddaughters, J.P. Staggs (Devin) and Jerrica Henington (Andy); and one great-grandson expected in November, Charley Jasper Staggs, all of Lawrenceburg.  Barbara also has one sister, Lillie Zimmerman (Jim) and one brother, Boyd Davis (Freddie Mae) surviving.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Scotts Hill Cemetery at 12:00 PM Wednesday, June 23, 2021, with Lanier Nail officiating.  Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
