Anita Lee Johnston, age 86, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at her residence.  She was a native of Gastonia, NC, and retired Special Education Teacher from Lawrence County School System.  She was also a member of Family and Community Education Club, Lawrence County Retired Teachers Association, and First United Methodist Church. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bertie Rogers Benoy; her husband of 45 years, Rev. Clifton Johnston; and one sister, Shelby Brown.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Frazier (Doug) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Joanna Milford (Tommy) of Harvest, AL; one brother, Roger Benoy of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Kay Price of Blacksburg, SC; and two grandchildren, Ian Milford and Brandon Frazier.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, June 05, 2021, at First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at First United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 05, 2021, with John Birdsong officiating.  Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.  Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
