James S. Word, 94, of Minor Hill, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021. James was a member of Anderson Church of Christ. James was a Journeyman electrician by trade and 70 year member of the IBEW Local 606. A jack of all trades who would help anyone in need. An avid gardener who tended his home garden for the last 20 years. And shared the yield from his garden with friends and family
Visitation for Mr. Word will be Wednesday, June 2nd from 1-2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home with funeral service following in the chapel. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. David Cox will be officiating.
James S. is preceded in death by his wife, Millinea McCafferty Word; daughter, Marcia Word Cooper; grandson, Cory James Word and son-in-law, Glen Tegg. He is survived by his children, Sharon Tegg of Clermont, FL; Timothy (Donna) Word of Anderson, AL, Brian (Lisa) Word of Minor Hill, TN; son-in-law, Curtis Cooper; grandchildren, Melanie (Scott) Fleming, Gelnda Tegg, Michael Word, Olivia Word, Erin Cooper; great-grandchildren, Analynn Tegg and Abigail Fleming; sister, Betty Raney of Savannah, TN; numerous nieces and nephews.
