Ruth Lee Taylor Hickerson, age 76, a resident of Summertown, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at her residence.

The family will celebrate her life with a service at a later date.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 10, 1945 in Summertown, Ruth was the daughter of the late Idee and Bertha Taylor. She worked many years at Jumbo House in Columbia and Dari Gem in Mt. Pleasant. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and recently enjoyed taking taekwondo classes. Ruth enjoyed reading, shopping, eating ice cream, and being outdoors. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and beloved dog, Baby.

She is survived by her son, James (Tigar) Hickerson; the true love of her life, Jimmy Beal Hickerson; sisters, Gene Hodge, Willodene Goode; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.   

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Ruby Mae Taylor, Mary Taylor, Imogene Hattie Taylor, James Taylor, and Lester Taylor.
