Evelyn Simmons Hunt, age 80, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, at NHC Healthcare of Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN.  She was a native of Moscow, TN, retired teacher from the Lawrence County School System, a recipient of the Ethel Young Benson Award, and enjoyed sewing.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg where she was a Sunday School Teacher. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Mildred Dilliard Simmons.

 

She is survived by her husband, Bob Hunt of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons, Bobby L. Hunt, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN and Robert C. Hunt of Germantown, TN; one brother, Barry Simmons of Paris, TN; three sisters, Anita Mallette of Florence, AL, Judy Simmons of Ooltewah, TN, and Donna Hickman of Bonne Terre, MO; and five grandchildren.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 11, 2021, with Jeff Vanlandingham officiating.  Interment will follow at Restview Cemetery in Loretto, TN.  The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg Building Fund or the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home.  Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
