Larry “Superfly” Malone, age 69, was born on December 31, 1951 to the late Bessie Fry Simmons and the late Reece Malone Jr. He entered eternal rest February 24, 2021 at Good Samaritan Health and Rehab Center.

Larry attended Elementary School at Waco and Jones High School in Lynnville. He played on The Jones Tigers Baseball Team.

Larry worked for Gabriel and for fifteen years at American Magotteaux.  After moving to Nashville in 1980 Larry started his own businesses:  Malone’s Landscaping and Dustbuster Cleaning Services.

Larry loved sports, especially football.   His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Tennessee Vols.  Everyone knew not to call him when the game was on. He loved watching Old Western movies. 

Before his health failed, he did a lot of traveling. He loved sitting in the yard feeding the birds. He had a love for his dogs, Ms. Charlie and Bo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Simmons and stepfather, Mack Simmons.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories Sons:  Sidney Peden, Clearfield, UT and Kacy Malone, Houston, TX; Daughters:  Karmyn Malone, Las Vegas, NV and Miranda Malone, Huntsville, AL;  Sisters:  Teresa Malone, Lynnville, TN and Katrina Malone, Spring, TX;  Brothers:  Dr. Antoine (Theresa) Malone, Conyers, GA and Stanley (Sarah) Malone, Roscoe, IL; Four grandchildren: Rainbow, Andrew, Adanya, and Brielle;  Aunt:  Frances Moss, Oakland Calif;  Stepsister:  Delphine (Steve) Beasley, Goodspring, TN;  Stepbrothers:  David Simmons, Huntsville, AL and Douglas (Johnetta) Simmons, Columbia, MO; Caregiver:  Mary Sims, Nashville, TN, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.     

Public viewing for Larry “Superfly” Malone will be Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home 327 Mill Street, Pulaski, TN.  Graveside service will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021 beginning 12 noon at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens 2391 Nashville Hwy, Columbia, TN.

Social distancing and wearing of masks is required.  Temperature screening will be conducted.
