Odis Hughes, 91, of Peoria Heights, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home.

Born February 23, 1930 in Loretto, Tennessee to Sidney Taylor and Josie (Woodham) Hughes, he married Majorie Evelyn (Trapp) on May 31, 1956. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra (Mike) Fritz of Kentucky, Cheryl (John) Brawner of Eureka; two sons, Ricky (Debbie) Walker of Colorado, Jeffery (Lisa) Hughes of Metamora; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Odis had served in the United States Army.

He worked for National Aluminum as a foreman for many years.

Odis enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and taking care of his garden.

His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Loretto Memorial Chapel. The visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Loretto Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Restview Cemetery.
