Sallie Ruth Gentry Black died Saturday, February 18th, 2023 in Pulaski. She was born in Limestone County, educated in the Giles County School system and a member of Willow Grove M.B. Church. She worked at Genesco and Giles County Hospital.

Survivors include sons, Howard Dean and wife Lisa Black, Frankie D. Black, and Michael A. Black, daughters, Darlene and husband Ricky Black, Jackie and husband Apostle Stanley Garrett, and Renona Black, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, brothers, George and wife Marva Gentry, LB Gentry, and Robert and wife Sherry Gentry, sisters, Linda and husband Wayman Reynolds and Alcyorn and husband John Wade White, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Visitation will be 11:00am to 12:00pm Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Temple of Praise Church  in Pulaski.

Services will be at noon Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Temple of Praise Church.

Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Prospect.

Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Sallie Ruth Gentry Black.
