Joan Troutman Abernathy died Monday, December 12th, at Meadowbrook Nursing & Rehab in Pulaski. She was born in La Follette, and was 87 years old. She graduated from the University of Tennessee, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski. She taught fourth grade at Pulaski Elementary and Southside Elementary.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Sunday, December 18th at The First United Methodist Church in Pulaski.

Memorial services will follow at 2:00pm at the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski with Reverend Zach Moffett and Bro. Mark Johnson officiating.

Memorial Donations are suggested to First United Methodist Church, 200 West Jefferson St. Pulaski, or Giles County Public Library, 122 South 2nd Street, Pulaski, TN. 38478

Survivors include Daughters, Joanie Abernathy of Franklin, and Sallie Hood of Pulaski, 6 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, Twin Sister, Jane and husband Jim Troutman Fox of Murfreesboro, Brother, Jerry and wife JoAnn Troutman of La Follette, numerous nieces and nephews and family also survive.
