Janet Lois Alsup Wise, age 78 of Starkville died Friday December 9th at her home. She was born in Pulaski, attended Martin College in Pulaski, and received a B.A. at David Lipscomb College, and earned an M.S. Degree from Florida State University and did post-graduate study at Duke University and was a recipient of the Burroughs Welcome Science Faculty Scholarship. Janet had a long teaching career and was the recipient of several awards.

Visitation will be Monday December 12th until 7pm at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home.

Services will be 11am Tuesday December 13th at Carr & Erwin Chapel.

Burial will be in Old Orchard Cemetery in Petersburg.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Palmer Home for Children in Columbus, Mississippi.

Survivors include her husband Dwayne Wise of Mississippi, son Michael Eric Wise of Nashville, brother, James “Jimmy” Alsup and wife Nancy of Pulaski, sister, Carol Alsup Houge of Pulaski, 2 grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
