James S. Thompson of Pulaski, TN died Monday October 11th at Southern Tennessee Regional in Lawrenceburg.  He was born in Pulaski and was 74 years old.

He was employed by the City of Pulaski as Fire Chief from 1994 till his retirement in 2011. He also served as the first Fire Chief of the Elkton Fire Dept and worked part-time as a building inspector for the City of Pulaski.  He was President of the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association, a member Tennessee Fire Safety Inspectors Association and Director of the Tennessee State Fire School in Murfreesboro TN, and was veteran of the United States Army.

Visitation will be Friday October 15th from 10:00am-1:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.

Memorial services will follow at 1:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Survivors include his Wife, Becky Holt Thompson of Pulaski, Daughter, Ginger and husband Jesse Witt of Elkmont, Son, Jeremy Thompson and Fiancé Stephanie of Pulaski, Step-Daughter, Angel Fuller, Step- Sons, Alan and wife Belinda Fuller and Stefen Fuller, 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great grandchild, and Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends also survive.
