Bessie A. Shelton died Tuesday in Rogersville, Alabama. She was born in Giles County and was 92 years old.

She was a retired school teacher, having taught at Minor Hill, Prospect and Elkton schools.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thursday at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, at Liberty United Methodist Church, where visitation also will be held two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Simpson Cemetery.

Memorial donations are suggested to Simpson Cemetery Fund, in care of First National Bank, 206 South First Street, Pulaski, Tennessee 38478.

Survivors include her son, James Shelton and wife Cheryl of Rogersville; two special nephews: Robert Owen and John Owen; honoray grandchildren: Jeff and Jessica Johnston, Brad Johnston and Heather, and Rusty Hill; honorary great-grandchildren: Adrie Johnston, Ryker Johnston, Ayla Johnston and Cameron Johnston; and the church families at Liberty United Methodist and Prospect United Methodist churches.
