A LINCOLN COUNTY MAN WAS ARRESTED AFTER AN INVESTIGATION BY THE TBI.  ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, LOUIS LEE BURNS, 32, IS ACCUSED OF STEALING MONEY FROM THE MULBERRY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.  ON MARCH 6TH, TBI AGENTS BEGAN INVESTIGATING THE THEFT AT THE REQUEST OF 17TH DISTRICT ATTORNEY GENERAL ROBERT CARTER.  BURNS WAS WORKING AS THE CAPTAIN OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IN JANUARY 2017 AND AGENTS DEVELOPED INFORMATION THAT FROM JANUARY THROUGH JUNE OF THAT YEAR MORE THAN FOUR THOUSAND AND SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS WAS TAKEN FROM DONATED FUNDS.  BURNS IS NO LONGER WORKING AT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.  ON TUESDAY, THE LINCOLN COUNTY GRAND JURY RETURNED AN INDICTMENT CHARGING BURN WITH ONE COUNT OF THEFT OVER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.  BURNS WAS ARRESTED AND BOOKED INTO THE LINCOLN COUNTY JAIL AND RELEASED ON HIS OWN RECOGNIZANCE.
