DEPUTIES WITH THE GILES COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT WERE DISPATCHED TO A RESIDENCE ON OAK GROVE ROAD WEDNESDAY EVENING TO A REPORT OF A POSSIBLE MURDER.  GILES COUNTY 911 DISPATCHERS TOLD RESPONDING OFFICERS THAT A FEMALE CALLER STATED THAT CAMERON CURTIS WAS AT THE HOUSE AND THAT HE HAD KILLED HIS MOTHER.  UPON ARRIVAL, DEPUTIES WERE CONFRONTED BY CURTIS WHO CHARGED AT THEM.  AFTER CURTIS WAS SUBDUED, DEPUTIES LOCATED THE FEMALE LYING ON THE FLOOR BLEEDING PROFUSELY FROM THE HEAD.  GILES COUNTY EMS TRANSPORTED TO THE VICTIM TO A LEVEL ONE TRAUMA CENTER IN NASHVILLE, WHERE SHE REMAINS IN CRITICAL BUT STABLE CONDITION.  CURTIS WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE GILES COUNTY JAIL AND CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT.  HE REMAINS IN JAIL WITHOUT BOND.
