An Athens, Alabama man is in jail after the Limestone County Sheriff's Office said he shot a man in the head during a Facebook Marketplace sale late Friday.

Deputies said they arrived at a house on Delilah Circle and found a 24-year-old man with a wound to his head.

Donald Lamar Smith, 45, was taken into custody and has been charged with first-degree assault.

Authorities said the 24-year-old man was flown by helicopter to Huntsville Hospital and was later taken to UAB Hospital.

All indications are the 24 year old will survive.
