In an update to an earlier story...
A commercial chicken farm in Marshall County has stopped the spread of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in its flock.
This operation put down 40,000 chickens.
The Alabama Department of Agriculture State Veterinarian says the situation in Marshall County could have been much worse if they had not caught it as early as they did.
To prevent this from happening, proper sanitation procedures have been put in place.
