Sheriff Joyce McConnell was officially sworn in by during last Tuesday’s Lincoln County Commission meeting.
The Commission unanimously approved appointing McConnell to the office of sheriff.
Lincoln County authorities said she was the only qualified applicant.
She will take over after Sheriff Murray Blackwelder retires and will serve until August 31st, 2024.
