On Memorial Day, a small earthquake was recorded in west Tennessee, and a pair in western Kentucky.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a magnitude 2.3 quake was reported at 8:49 pm in Lake County, Tennessee, near Ridgely, 25 miles southwest of Union City.
At 9:45 pm, a pair of western Kentucky quakes were felt four minutes and five miles apart.
A 3.0 magnitude tremor was recorded in McLean County near Calhoun, 19 miles southwest of Owensboro.
Then at 9:49 pm, a 2.4 magnitude quake was recorded in Hopkins County, 24 miles southwest of Owensboro.
