According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Flu activity is considered “high” or “very high” in several states across the country.

During National Influenza Vaccination Week, December 5th through 11th, the American Lung Association is encouraging individuals, especially those living with chronic health conditions, to get their flu shot.

Those living with heart disease, diabetes, asthma, COPD, and other chronic lung diseases are most at risk of developing serious complications. In past flu seasons, 9 out of 10 adults hospitalized with flu have at least one underlying medical condition.
