Fall is in the air, and here’s some great ideas to spend time with family & friends…

Beginning November 1st, you will see Tattle Bogles begin to pop up around town. It's just the Scottish name for a scarecrow, but it’s so much more than that. Tattie Bogles are decorated very creatively and are always fun to see who is up for a little competition.

November 10th is the Chamber Chili Cook-Off, where we will announce the winning Tattie Bogle. Second Street in front of the Chamber of Commerce will turn into an alley of eager competitors vying for ultimate bragging rights. This year's theme is "Community Friendsgiving!" The public is invited to taste all the chili, cornbread, and cookies and enjoy good music with the Martini Shakers and activities for the kids for $7 per adult and $3 per child.

The next morning, we will start a new tradition as a community a welcome home parade honoring our veterans. We are looking for groups to host our veterans and inviting everyone in the community to come out to the parade at 9:30 and stay for the program at 11:11 in front of the Courthouse Gazebo.

Sign up for any of these events at gilescountychamber.com or call the Chamber at 363-3789 for more information.
