The Tennessee Highway patrol will conduct sobriety and safety belt roadside checkpoints this week in Giles County on Highway 31 South around the 14 mile marker.

Troopers will target those who operate a vehicle without using seat belts and will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment. In both cases, Troopers will take corrective actions for those and other violations observed.

The THP recognizes these roadside checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools of enforcing safety belt laws and impaired driving.
