The Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office released a statement reminding the public to use caution when placing Halloween Decorations to help prevent fire. Keep décor away from open flame, lightbulbs, or heaters. It’s easy for decorations like cornstalks, crepe paper, or straw to catch on fire. Keep exits clear of decorations, so nothing blocks escape in case of emergency.
