Lawrenceburg Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred over the weekend on the railroad.

According to reports, officers spoke with a representative from the railroad who said sometime between Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and Monday morning, someone pulled up eight rail spikes and hammered them in between sections of the railway.

In doing this, the spikes stuck up which allowed the trains to hit them. One train did strike two of the spikes before getting stopped. No damage was done to the train but estimated damage to the railway is $200 dollars.
