The Giles County School Board voted unanimously to not pass on an increase of insurance cost to its employees.

Meeting in regular session at Elkton School Oct. 5, the school board voted to accept a 6 percent increase in health insurance premiums without passing the increase on to school system employees, according to media reports.

According to reports, Board Chairman Richie Brewer made an impassioned statement concerning the annual health insurance increases he said the state puts on teachers.
