One person was transported from a two-vehicle accident Tuesday on Short School Road to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, Pulaski, where he was pronounced dead.

Samuel M. Langley, 49, was driving a 2010 Victory Motorcycle and Ronald L. Holt, 52, was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was pulling a utility trailer when the accident occurred in the 600 block of Short School Road.

The truck was traveling northbound and making a left hand turn into a driveway as the motorcycle was approaching from the rear. According to the Trooper's report, the driver of the motorcycle was unable to stop and the motorcycle struck the side of the truck. Langley was thrown from the motorcycle, coming to rest underneath the trailer.

Holt was wearing a safety belt, but Langley was not wearing a helmet. No drugs or alcohol were found to be a factor in the accident.

In the course of working the scene, another EMS unit and extrication truck were requested.

Responding to the scene were Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper David Hill, Giles County EMS and Giles County Fire and Rescue.
