One of those injured in a four-vehicle accident Friday on Highway 43 in Ethridge has died.

Sources say a 12-month-old passenger was transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to Nashville. The child was pronounced dead Monday as a result of injuries sustained in the wreck.

Initial reports show the wreck occurred just before 4 p.m. and involved five vehicles with twelve people injured.  

The accident is currently under investigation, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol Critical Incident Response Team will be reconstructing and extensively investigating the crash scene.
