This weekend marks the 25th year for the annual Stella fish fry to be held, and it has remained one of Giles County's most popular fundraisers through the years.

Located off Highway 166 South, the fish fry will be held Saturday from 4-7 p.m. at the Stella Community Building. Cost for the all-you-can-eat fish and fixin's dinner is $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 and under. Dessert is a dollar extra. There also will be a limited quantity of chicken finger plates available.

Proceeds from the fundraiser help maintain the Stella Community Building, which started out as a school for past generations. The first fish fry was held to raise money to restore the building that had fallen in disrepair.

Residents of the Stella community volunteer each year to keep the fundraiser going. Proceeds now help maintain the restored building and nearby Stella Cemetery.
