Will Mayfield of Mayfield Angus Farms will be on the Martin Methodist College campus Wednesday in the Gualt Recital Hall at 5:30 p.m. to speak about cattle farming in Giles County. His family has raised Angus cattle in the Little Dry Creek community continuously for more than 40 years.

Mayfield is a graduate of UT Knoxville, an American Angus Association regional manager and a beef specialist with Select Sires, Inc. His presentation will include a question and answer period, said Mark Chee, assistant professor of biology at Martin Methodist, who invited Mayfield to the college's campus.

Chee said Mayfield's presentation is a precursor to learning more about cattle farming in Giles County at next week's Here's the Beef Festival in Pulaski. For instance, do you know that Giles County is a leader in beef production, not just in Tennessee, but in the nation?
