GM Spring Hill has announced the elimination of its third shift.  

The Daily Herald reported the round of possible layoffs Friday morning.

It is believed the shift closure will occur by the end of November and could affect up to 1,000 workers.

General Motors recently announced a 294 million dollar investment into the plant for a future Cadillac crossover.
