Large household junk items can be placed on the curb next to garbage carts during the upcoming semi-annual Amnesty Week in Pulaski.

Amnesty Week will run October 2-6, when the Pulaski Street and Sanitation Department will pick up items other than normal garbage at residents living within the city limits. Items should be placed on the curb the day of your normal garbage pick-up during that week.

Among the items that will be accepted are old furniture items and old appliances.

Items left at a vacant house will not be picked up. Also not to be picked up are hazardous waste items, tires, paint, items containing oil, batteries or anything containing refrigerant, such as refrigerators and air conditioners.

Anything other than normal garbage placed on the curb after Oct. 6 will not be picked up by the city.
