A Lewis County man is dead after federal agents approached him Tuesday to take him into custody.

According to media reports, U.S. Marshall Danny Shelton found Bryan Prince, 47, of Lewis County, near the 100 block of north James Campbell Boulevard in Columbia. He was wanted for violating the conditions of his pre-trial release on meth charges.

Prince reportedly saw the Marshalls and shot himself. He was pronounced dead after being transported to Maury Regional Hospital.

In August, WLX.com reported how Prince was wanted in an armed robbery incident that occurred at the Extended Stay Suites in Columbia, where he held a couple at gunpoint and robbed them.
