A pregnant teenager was shot Monday, and as a result she and the unborn child have died. Another teenager has been arrested.

Pulaski Police were alerted to the incident just shortly after 7 p.m. Monday to an undisclosed location in Pulaski, where  the 16-year-old victim from Leoma had been shot, said Pulaski Police Lieutenant Joey Turner.

She was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in critical condition. But despite emergency procedures, the baby died. The teen victim has died overnight as a result of her injuries.

An investigation led authorities to arrest Colton Daniel Perryman, 18, of Leoma and charged him with two counts of second degree murder.

Perryman remains in the Giles County Jail on $900,000 bond. His first court date is Thursday.
