The University of Tennessee softball team will return to Columbia in April for the Midstate Classic. According to the Daily Herald, the University of Tennessee will go up against the University of Memphis.

The Midstate Classic moves to April this year, a decision that was based on the sometime unpredictable March weather. Columbia State College most likely will play an earlier game as part of a doubleheader, possibly against Volunteer State.

This will mark the fourth time the Volunteers have agreed to play in Columbia and the first time in five years since the two teams from across the state have played against each other.
