Members of the Tennessee Legislature have formed a committee to research if the state should legalize medical marijuana.

The announcement was made Friday in a letter from Lieutenant Governor Randy Mcnally and House Speaker Beth Harwell.

The ten member committee will address a comprehensive study aimed at determining if marijuana for medical purposes should be legalized in the state.

Representative Sheila Butt of Maury County and Senator Joey Hensley of Lewis County will serve on the committee.
