Alabama State Troopers are investigating a fatal accident that occurred this morning around 1:15 on Highway 31 in Limestone County, according to WLX.com.

Media reports state that Dean Bumpus, 49, of Decatur, was stopped on the side of the road to help a stranded friend. He had brought his truck and car hauler to pick up the friend's broken down vehicle. As Bumpus was getting out of his truck another driver side-swiped the truck and hit him, killing him instantly.

No word if there are any charges at this time.
