The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct sobriety and safety belt roadside checkpoints during the week of July 3.

Troopers will be on Highway 31 South around the 3 mile marker in Giles County evaluating drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment and take corrective actions for other violations observed.

THP also will be at the 14 mile marker on Highway 31 South targeting those who operate a vehicle without wearing seat belts, also taking corrective actions for other violations observed.

THP recognizes that safety belt and sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools of enforcing laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of vehicle occupant.
