The Personnel Committee of the Pulaski-Giles County Economic Development Commission met today to look over resumes and begin the task of narrowing down the list of candidates for the new director position.

The committee eliminated five of the 10 who submitted resumes and were received before the deadline, said Bobby Wynne, head of the Personnel Committee. Wynne said he is confident advertising for candidates was well covered over the state.

Wynne also said the five who were eliminated were all good people, but they did not have the experience relevant to what the EDC Commission wants to achieve.

Committee members are now going over the remaining candidates and checking references.

At the Personnel Committee's next meeting on June 30, the task will be to narrow the list down to three before presenting to the full board, Wynne said. He will discuss what the committee is doing at the full board's next meeting at noon, Wednesday, June 28, at the Pulaski Electric System.

Besides Wynne, members of the EDC Personnel Committee include: Pulaski Mayor Pat Ford, Giles County Executive Janet Vanzant, Ronnie Brindley and Patrick Gilbert. EDC President David Rackley sat in on this morning's meeting.
