To show appreciation for the sacrifices made during their military service, the VFW Post 4577 Auxiliary invites all Giles County veterans to a luncheon next week at the Post Building.

Veterans planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Friday by calling Martha Tallent at 363-3752, Joyce Young at 363-7249, Julia Norwood at 292-6205, Peggy Malone at 703-9496 or Kathy Bassham at 309-8834.. 

The luncheon is set for noon, Aug. 17, at the VFW Post Building, located off Highway 31A. Members of the Auxiliary will serve the barbecue meal.

Bassham said one of the purposes of the Auxiliary is to support veterans. Feeding them is one way but the Auxiliary members will compile a list of veterans in need, also.

The turnout at this year's appreciation luncheon will determine if it becomes an annual event, Bassham said.
