Columbia Academy’s band director was arrested for the solicitation of a minor Monday and fired from his position at the private Christian school.


Mark Evan Donahoo, was taken into custody by authorities Monday, according to a booking report from the Maury County Sheriff’s Department.


Donahoo was released from the Maury County Jail on a $2,000 bond Tuesday.


“We are deeply saddened and shocked to learn of these serious accusations,” Columbia Academy President James A. Thomas said “We are cooperating fully with law enforcement to aid in their investigation, seeking justice. The teacher has been terminated from his role effective immediately.”


Thomas said the alleged victim was a Columbia Academy student.


The investigation into the accusations continues.
