Headed Where No Bobcat Has Been Before Posted on November 19, 2009
Members of the Giles County Bobcat football team will be the first to tell you that the fans made a big difference in last weeks 32-6 win over David Lipscomb. Bobcat fans were loud and proud, cheering on their team. The stadium rang with the sound of cowbells all night long.
This could well be the championship year for coach David O’Conner and his 2009 Bobcat squad. Since his arrival in 2006, coach O’Conner has posted a 40-9 record at the helm of the Bobcat program. A win tomorrow night would be the 14th home win in a row for Giles County.
Lexington comes to town for tomorrow nights 7pm contest. The Tigers will bring a 9-3 record to Sam Davis Stadium as both teams fight to be a force in the state playoff picture.
Giles County will defend an 11-1 record tomorrow night. The first 11-win season for the Bobcats was in the mid ‘90’s. The 2006 Bobcat team posted an 11-win season and this years Bobcat squad is looking to be first two win 12 games in a season.
Fans should bring their cowbells to the game again tomorrow to cheer on the Bobcats. If you cant make it to the game, you can hear it on the radio, beginning at 6:30pm on Country 98.3 FM.
